Rather than wondering if you should do a Home Based Business, the question that is really more relevant is which home based business should you do? 1. Legitimate - I know this may seem like an obvious thing, but with the internet being almost limitless some of the home based businesses out there are actually a bit dodgy! So make sure you do your research. Find government websites that actually can confirm that the businesses are legitimate.
2. It achieves your goal - keep in mind your life goals, think about what you want out of life and write the main points down. Then when choosing a home based business, make sure that you don’t get caught up in the hype, and that it has the potential to achieve those life goals
3. Upfront fees - Unlike a lot of franchise businesses, home based businesses can be quite cheap compared to the potential profits. However, be aware of hidden fees, ongoing requirements you may have to meet or any other costs that could be needed. Look around as home based businesses with minimal costs and no catches actually do exist!
4. Daily Method of Operation - So what do I mean here? Basically have a look at the actual things you will be doing on a daily basis to make money. Although it may be classed as a home based business, it still may need you to sit in the office from 9-5. If you are looking to spend time with the kids, those businesses won’t suit you, find one that only needs a small amount of time in the actual office so you can have that quality time.
5. Important that you are genuinely interested in the industry and / or product - As there are so many home based businesses out there in all different industries, it is important to consider that you are passionate about the product and business. Is it something you can fall in love with? If it seems to achieve the goals you want, but you aren’t passionate - I hate to be blunt, but you won’t last doing the business because it won’t come from the heart. Find this passion, along with the goals and you will be onto a winner!
