Many good plans have never been tested. Most families do not have a workable schedule where everyone has to follow the house rules. So many families waste money everyday by not having, or following a plan of action. Every household needs to find ways to saving money on bills. The cost of utility seems to rise every year along with taxes and commodities. Some individuals are working on ways to cut back on spending so much money. In order for this to happen, the family must come together and agree to follow all the house rules.

One area where households can save is on water. Even though, water is a free resource when it rains it still has to be paid for. Many families do not have set days of the week in which they do their laundry. This ends up with everybody during laundry every other day, if not everyday. This is a great waste of water. There should be at least 2 days per week designated for laundry. One day for whites and one day for colors.

Designating 1 day per week for white clothes, and 1 day for color clothes is more than generous. Once a schedule and agreement is made, everyone should be willing to follow it to help save cash.

Watering the plants and the lawn during rainy season is not necessary. The automatic timer can be controlled manually during this time. Indoor plants needs to be placed outside on the lawn to enjoy being watered from above. Watering the lawn regularly during this time is wasteful. Some person water there lawn in the evening only to have it rain at night, or early the next morning. Watch the weather for updates.

Electricity is a large bill for millions of people. This one area really can stand some trimming down. Children and adults to sometimes forget to turn the light off when they leave the room, or when they leave the house. Forgetting to do this everyday is very costly. Some families find that changing their higher watt bulbs to lower watts helps to bring down their bill tremendously.

One fact that most people do not think about is unplugging extra items. Items that are not in use should be unplugged until they are ready for use. These items are coffee makers, stereos, TVs and VCRs, and microwaves. Evening lighting fixtures should not be used during the day light hours.

Lamps can be replaced with night-lights if possible. Night-lights are very cheap, and cost efficient. They come in a pack of two or more, and so do the bulbs. Each of these items costs about a dollar at the local dollar store.
