This is the worst economic downturn that most people have ever endured. People are losing their jobs and companies are going under everyday. Many people are seriously worried about their futures. With pay cuts and retirement fund losses, it can be a very rocky time. There are definitely ways to make bills decrease and lighten the financial stress. It’s not as hard as you might think.
Gather up all your bills that you pay monthly. Don’t worry. After you do it, you’ll be glad you did, even if you are feeling a little sick right now looking at the numbers. It’s important to know how much you are paying per month on your bills. At this time, you can’t afford to over pay for anything, especially things you may not need or have forgotten aboutl.
Now take your list of items that you spend money on, we are going to divide it into two new lists. I call them your needs and your wants. Needs are things you truly need. A place to live, heat, water, sometimes a car. Your wants are phones, Internet , eating out, subscriptions, and the like. Really think about what you could survive without when you are separating your items. I’m not going to ask you to get rid of everything, so don’t panic.
You’ll now want to take a list of your needs and see what you can cut back on. Often there may be multiple electricity companies in your area. See if anyone has a better rate. Perhaps your company will negotiate. Phone companies most often have better service plans, especially if yours is old. Can you reduce your house interest rate? These are things that can be decreased and will help in your monthly financial load.
Save money by looking online for deals. You can even find coupons for things you may not have known was on sale. For example, grocery coupons can really make a big impact on your overall bill and you can save up to 80%. You can even save 75% off on bank checks and such when buying directly online. Maybe go to the library for free entertainment rather than the local Borders and think about bringing lunches to work and making more food at home than going out to eat.
