Do it yourself credit repair is easier than you suspect and the first thing is to work out where you stand. Get free copies of your credit score from the three credit bureaus: Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. It’s important to get one from each bureau since your report may differ on each one, and once completed you’ll have a clear picture of your overall credit score.
Plan Your Attack
Review your copies and start designing your own fiscal plan. If you’ve got any overdue accounts pay up or restructure them. Call your card company and barter reduced regular payments, change the due dates to a different time in the month or ask for an extended payment schedule. Whatever new agreement you will come up with, be sure it’s in writing.
